Jesus & The Ten
Right after the Beatitudes (read them again for the first time), Jesus informs his disciples how the world relates to them.  He talks about the disciple as salt, a preservative, to the world.  He talks about the disciple as a light to help the world see.  Good stuff.  Almost everyone remembers about salt and light.  How many tee shirts have you seen that say it?  Lots.  But have you ever heard verses 17 - 19 in Matthew chapter 5?  Verse 19 is especially interesting.
 
What are you aiming for?  The greatest or the least?

The Question
So, you have to ask yourself;
 
Are you going to visit this site and go about your normal daily life while everything we were warned about comes true, or are you going to do something?
 
Start small.  Memorize the Ten Commandments.  Begin to live your life as God intended and when you fall short, ask for His grace.  Keep striving to walk with God.  When you are on the Path, words can't describe the journey.

The Foundation of Government
This is not a new thought, nor should it be.  But, it should be repeated and taught to all Americans.  The thought?  That the USA derives its right to existence from God.  How?  Let's look at the Declaration of Independence.
 
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed...
 
Governments are creations of men to secure certain unalienable Rights.  Who grants the rights that are unalienable?  Man's Creator.  God.  No one else.  If you take God out of the USA, then the justification for its existence is nullified. From this text, it is obvious that the Founding Fathers a) knew God existed, b) recognized Him as sovereign over all the earth (see highlights below).
 
When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them...

When terror comes
Today we were studying Proverbs 1 which discusses knowledge and wisdom.  Wisdom is portrayed as a woman, seeking companions in crowded public areas, such as a mall or shopping center.  Crying out like a parent to a rebellious teenager, she can't understand why we want to continue in our destructive ways.  She knows we are headed for a car wreck or jail time.  We just ignore her, we are younger, smarter and bullet proof.  Until...
 
"When your terror comes like a storm, and your destruction comes like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come upon you."
 
Sounds a lot like 9/11 doesn't it?

Genesis
In the beginning God created...
Somewhere along the way He created a nation called America.  He put just the right people, at just the right time, in just the right place, stirred it mightly with a hot summer and birthed a nation.  When asked what kind of government they had created, Ben Franklin said "A republic, if you can keep it." 
 
Can we keep it?  We must remember the foundation on which it was formed to ensure it's future.  I am just a small rock.  With millions of other small rocks we can make a mighty wall.
