Are You Smart Enough to Be Simple

For most people, simple is equated with stupid.  But is it really?  How often have you read a contract drafted by a very educated attorney and wondered why he couldn’t have written it in plain English? Or, why college textbooks put you to sleep instead of exciting you to discover more of the knowledge the author has to share?

I was once told that if you can’t explain a concept to a six year old, you really don’t understand it yourself.  Simplicity is not stupidity or lack of knowledge; it is rather the understanding of great knowledge.  Next time an elitist tells you Christianity is for the simple, ask him (or her) to explain it to a six year old the way God does….”For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life”
