Are You Smart Enough to Be Simple
For most people, simple is equated with
stupid. But is it really? How often
have you read a contract drafted by a very educated attorney and wondered why he couldn’t have written it in plain English?
Or, why college textbooks put you to sleep instead of exciting you to discover more of the knowledge the author has to share?
I was once told that if you can’t
explain a concept to a six year old, you really don’t understand it yourself. Simplicity
is not stupidity or lack of knowledge; it is rather the understanding of great knowledge.
Next time an elitist tells you Christianity is for the simple, ask him (or her) to explain it to a six year
old the way God does….”For God so loved the
world, that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life”

Paradigms, Paradoxes and Pure Truth
I recently read an author describe humans trying to comprehend the wonder and greatness of heaven as similar to
us trying to explain the internet to an ant. It can't be done. Our paradigm is simply too small and incomplete.
As we move through life, we adjust our paradigm as we gain knowledge. Often items held as truth conflict with new knowledge
and we are forced to make a decision--hold on to the old paradigm or accept the "new truth." But what if both are true?
That is a paradox. How can both be true? Because we are ants trying to understand the internet....
