Doesn't He Mean Sin?
Nathanael Blake's article at Townhall.com dances all around the issue without saying it. Sin is sin, regardless of how we position it.

The Quandry
Face it. We really do want rules. Rules make life easy. Obey and we're all good. Break one and
punishment that we deserve. Easy. Neat. Fair. Only one problem: Not in God's plan. He wants
us to be in relationship with Him, not rules that leave Him out. That's why the world is grey. Want another viewpoint?
Check this out. I don't agree with everything, but the final conclusion is spot on.

Worth Repeating
This post has a great listing of quotes. The Ten Commandment quote:
The ten commandments aren't prefaced with "if you're in the mood."

Faith and Politics
Read this great post by a Christian Democrat who struggles to reconcile her faith to the party's lack of accetance of her faith as well as the
general policy positions on faith. Many Christians want to stay with the Democratic party because of social justice
issues, but wind up feeling the same way Above Average Jane does. As a Christian, we know the end (see Revelation), so the means can never justify the end (it is already decided).
We need to focus on the here and now. Be obedient to God's commands and live in joy.

Recent Poll
A Fox News Poll conducted November 29-30, 2005 by Opinion Dynamics is very interesting. The Ten Commandments question:

Commandments on government property? 76% Legal, 15% Illegal, 8% Not Sure.

Court Whacks ACLU
Is the wind changing? WorldNetDaily reports on the Mercer County victory at the 6th Circuit over the ACLU. Best quote:
"This is a big victory for the people of Mercer County and Kentucky generally," Manion said. "For too long they have been
lectured like children by those in the ACLU and elsewhere who claim to know what the people's Constitution really means. What
the 6th Circuit has said is that the people have a better grasp on the real meaning of the Constitution; the court recognizes
that the Constitution does not require that we strip the public square of all vestiges of our religious heritage and traditions."
